Dafydd ab Iago has been a journalist for almost 30 years, mostly covering European and global politics. By founding, Tervuren+ Dafydd aims to ultimately contribute to filling gaps in local news reporting. Tervuren+ currently has a publication rhythm of 4-6 targeted and researched articles for free per month.
“News desert is the term for the lack of local and micro-level news,” he says. Dafydd is also president of the Brussels-based foreign correspondents’ association API-IPA and vice-president of the Brussels Press Club. He is proud to be a jury member for the Daphne Caruana Prize for Journalism that annually honors investigative journalism promoting or defending core EU values.
Aside from Dutch and Welsh, he speaks other languages, including Esperanto and Spanish. He has a diverse academic background, having studied at universities in Wales, Vienna, and Oxford.
