L’objectif initial du mouvement des Repair Cafés était de faire revivre des techniques de réparation autrefois courantes. « Malheureusement, nous l’avons tous un peu oublié », explique Mylène De Scheemaecker, l’une des forces motrices du Repair Café de Tervuren. « Grâce au Repair Café, il est possible d’apprendre à certaines personnes à réparer certaines choses, par exemple un pneu de vélo crevé ou un bouton à coudre. »

Repair Café Returns to Tervuren on 2 November
The original aim of the Repair Café movement was to revive repair skills that were once commonplace. “Unfortunately, we’ve all kind of forgotten that,” says Mylène De Scheemaecker, one of the driving forces behind Repair Café in Tervuren. “Through the Repair Café, you can teach some people to repair certain things—think of a flat bicycle tyre or sewing on a button.”
