FREE David Attenborough Ocean Epic Screening Tervuren Belgium

Sir David Attenborough’s jaw-dropping ocean epic will be shown FREE OF CHARGE on Wednesday 26 November at 8pm — in English — at Tervuren’s cultural centre De Warandepoort, which seats 370 people.

Forget Netflix — Attenborough’s masterpiece is crashing onto Tervuren’s biggest screen, complete with heart-stopping footage of swirling shoals, deep-sea monsters, and shimmering coral kingdoms. Expect giant whales gliding through crystal waters to bizarre abyss-dwellers.

And of course, there’s Attenborough’s unmistakable upper-crust narration — pure Cambridge English — from the man who could describe a puddle and make it sound majestic.

Normally, any public activity in Tervuren’s subsidised venues must be held in Dutch — a rule supported by all Flemish parties, including the film’s organisers Groen+Vooruit. Exceptions are made only for international events or for non-Dutch-speaking residents positively contributing to integration.

The film night may help Groen+Vooruit score points with Tervuren’s sizeable international population — 45% non-Belgians, plus 25% French-speaking Belgians. For core supporters, the party held a spaghetti night in October, just before N-VA Tervuren’s eetfestijn featuring stoofvlees (Flemish beef stew). The film evening lands only days before Voor Tervuren (CD&V and Open VLD) hosted their own eetfestijn: €18 for vol-au-vent or meatballs.

Tervuren Unie+Volt have yet to hold an indoor event.
